Sublimation Printing

Sublimation is a solid choice for colorful, graphic-heavy designs on light tumblers. For single-color logos, names, and text-based personalization, there's a better option.
Laser Engraving
Laser engraving doesn't add anything to the tumbler surface. It removes material. A focused beam of light strips away the powder coating to reveal the raw stainless steel underneath. The design isn't sitting on top of the tumbler — it's cut into it.
This is what makes laser engraving permanent in a way that no other method can match. There's nothing to peel because nothing was applied. There's nothing to fade because the design is raw metal exposed by removing the coating above it. You can run a laser engraved tumbler through the dishwasher every single day for ten years and the design will look exactly the same as the day it was made.
The aesthetic is different from vinyl and sublimation. Laser engraving produces a single-color result — the contrast between the colored powder coat and the silver stainless steel underneath. On a black tumbler, the engraving appears silver. On a navy tumbler, same thing. It's clean, sharp, and unmistakably premium. It's the kind of finish you see on high-end branded merchandise and corporate gifts, not because it's trendy, but because it lasts.

If you want a full-color, photo-realistic design on a light-colored tumbler, sublimation is your best bet. If you want a budget-friendly option that looks good short term, vinyl works.
